Archbishop Hoban coach Jim Diestel said six of his 11 seniors have made decisions on where they will play baseball and continue their educations in college.

Lucas Sokol is headed to the University of Toledo and Matt Gebacz is bound for Niagara University.

Kolin McMillen (Mercyhurst), Trevor Oldham (Heidelberg), Kerrigan Cain (Case Western Reserve) and Brendan Taylor (Wooster) also made commitments.

“They are all top level kids,” Diestel said. “They are not just great baseball players. They have good personalities and are quality gentlemen. All the guys get along and they play team baseball.”

Hoban (15-7) and Tallmadge (18-5) will meet in a Division II regional semifinal at 2 p.m. today at The Ballpark at Hudson.

Hoban defeated rival Walsh Jesuit 3-0 in a district final on George Sisler Field at Summit Lake Park. Tallmadge beat Canton South 2-0 in a district final at Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium.
