Barberton graduate Jerry Williams III earns football roster spot at Ohio U

Jerry Williams III, a 2013 Barberton High School graduate, is a member of the Ohio University football team.

Williams, who is 6-foot-3 and 275-pounds, is a walk-on defensive end. He starred in football as a defensive lineman for Barberton coach Jeff Sharkey and in basketball as a center for Magics coach Ken Rector.

Williams made 77 tackles, including seven for loss, as a senior, and was voted by his teammates as team Most Valuable Player, best offensive lineman and best defensive lineman.
