Basketball teams ready to compete in Dunk4Diabetes Shootout at Walsh U

The 3rdannual Dunk4Diabetes Shootout will be at Walsh University in North Canton on Saturday and Sunday.

Event director Chas Wolfe said 21 basketball teams are scheduled to compete during the two days.

There are 11 games with some of the proceeds going to the American Diabetes Association. Wolfe says that over 50 Division I college prospects will be playing along with several state ranked and nationally ranked teams.

Area schools Lake, North Royalton, Brunswick, Wadsworth, Canton Timken and North Canton Hoover will take part in the event.

The schedule:

+ Saturday – 2 p.m.: LaBrae vs. Beachwood; 3:45 p.m.: Lake vs. North Royalton; 5:30 p.m.: Brunswick vs. Newark; 7:15 p.m.: Cleveland Central Catholic vs. La Lumiere (Ind.); 9 p.m. Shaker Heights vs. Huntington Prep (W. Vga).

+ Sunday – 11:30 a.m.: Wadsworth vs. Cleveland Cornerstone Christian; 1:15 p.m.: La Lumiere (Ind.) vs. Warrensville Heights; 3 p.m.: Canton Timken vs. Cleveland St. Ignatius; 4:45 p.m.: Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph vs. Mentor; 6:30 p.m.: Lakewood St. Edward vs. Cincinnati Walnut Hills; 8:15 p.m.: North Canton Hoover vs. Garfield Heights.
