Cleveland State to host national wrestling event

Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center will host the U.S. Open and FILA Junior National Wrestling Championships from April 22-25.

The U.S. Open (Senior) Wrestling Championships takes place Friday and Saturday and the men’s Junior FILA Cadet National Championships is Thursday and Sunday.

The nation’s best men’s freestyle, women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers will battle for national titles and All-American honors at the U.S. Open. The Men’s FILA Junior National Championships include the nation’s top wrestlers who are 17-20 years of age, competing in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.

Note: The top seven in each weight class from the U.S. Open qualify for the World Team Trials in Council Bluffs, Iowa, June 11-12. The Men’s FILA Junior National Championships is a qualifying event for the FILA Junior World Team Trials in Colorado Springs, Colorado, May 21-22.

All Session Tickets:
Adults (13 years old and up) - $50
Youth (3-12 years old) - $35

Individual Tickets:
Adults (13 years old and up) - $18
Youth (3 – 12 years old) - $10

*Ages 3 and under are FREE

Television: The Big Ten Network will broadcast the 2010 ASICS U.S. Open Wrestling Championships April 25, 27 and 29. The broadcast will cover the championship finals in all three Olympic styles: men’s freestyle, women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman.]ep
