Defiance defeats Hoban 5-1 in Division II state baseball semifinal

The Archbishop Hoban baseball team’s season came to an end Friday when the Defiance Bulldogs defeated the Knights 5-1 in a Division II state semifinal at Huntington Park in Columbus.

Hoban concludes its season with a 20-11 record.

Defiance, ranked No. 1 in the state in Division II, upped its record to 30-1. The Bulldogs will play Plain City Jonathan Alder in a state final at 7 p.m. Saturday. Alder defeated Cadiz Harrison Central 11-1 in the other state semifinal.
