Falls finally finds victory formula against Brush

By izzy Published: September 23, 2009

On the surface, Brush was 3-0 and at their home turf of Korb Field facing Cuyahoga Falls, which was 0-3.

Mismatch, right?

It was the Black Tigers that emerged victorious, 16-13. CoachMike Miller says it was simply a case of having things go well.

"We have tried to make things positive . With all the losing that has happened in this program, when things goes bad and it just seems to snowball," Miller says. "We got up on them early and stayed up on them."

Chris Shaffer had a big game for the Black Tigers. The senior had two touchdowns - one on a reception and one rushing, as well as an interception. His TD catch came on a double pass play on a throw from sophomore Drew Gardner.

On Friday, Falls hosts North Royalton (4-0) at Clifford Stadium.

"They are not the biggest team or the fastest team around, but they do the little things well," Miller says.
