Firestone boys basketball team features dynamic trio of players

The Firestone boys basketball team is 3-1 with victories over Copley (65-49), Archbishop Hoban (63-57) and East (72-62). The Falcons have an effective trio with 6-3 senior Evan Kennerly, 6-5 sophomore Raybon Lewis and 5-11 senior JaeQuan Jones.

Kennerly is averaging 23.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Lewis has set a career high in points and rebounds in each of his past three games, and is averaging 12.8 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. Jones is averaging 8.0 points and 5.0 assists.

Firestone won the City Series regular season and playoff championship last season. East won both league titles the season before. Both teams figure to be in the mix this season along with Buchtel, Ellet, North, Kenmore and Garfield.
