Firestone’s Meek commits to run at Geneva

Firestone coach Tim Carroll said senior Sarah Meek will continue her academic and athletic careers at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa. as a member of the women’s cross country and track and field teams.
Meek also strongly considered Malone.
Meek, an honor roll student, finished 24th at the Division I state cross country meet this past season. She became the first Akron Public Schools cross country runner, boy or girl, to qualify for the state championship meet in 11 years.
Meek won City Series and district cross country titles at Goodyear Heights Metropolitan Park in Akron. She placed third at the regional meet at Boardman.
So far this track season, Meek set the meet record in the 3,200 meters at the Crestwood Don Faix Invitational (11:15.3) and at the Stow Reinhart Relays (11:07.3).
