Lake senior girls basketball player Baylen Dyrlund has signed a national letter of intent to continue her career at West Liberty University in West Virginia.
Dyrlund has been an All-Federal League selection in each of her three varsity seasons, including being tabbed as first-team all-league twice. She has also earned Division I All- Northeast Ohio Inland District recognition during her sophomore and junior seasons.
As a sophomore, she helped guide Lake to its first Federal League girls’ basketball championship in school history and as a junior was instrumental in helping Lake reach a Division I district championship game for the first time in over two decades.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to coach Baylen during her high school career,” Lake coach Henry Cobb said. “She is a hard worker and one of the most committed basketball players I have ever coached. All of us are counting on her to have a great senior year at Lake and we wish her the best at West Liberty next season.”
Dyrlund averaged 11.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game last season and shot 50-percent from the field. Lake’s record during the past two seasons is a combined 41-7.
West Liberty State is coached by Lynn Ullom.
