Massillon Washington High School senior Justin ''J.T.'' Turner has been selected to play in the 2009 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, Tigers Athletic Director Tim Ridgley recently announced.

The game is set for Jan. 3 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Turner will be honored in a ceremony at Washington High School at 1:40 p.m. Friday as a
representative of the U.S. Army presents him with his All-American East jersey. Turner will take the field with other top high school football players for the ninth annual bowl game, which will be televised live on NBC.

''The way Justin carried himself this year on the field and off the field, the way he represented Massillon in Stark County, he's definitely deserving of playing in this all-star game,'' Massillon coach Jason Hall said. ''His selection to this game shows Justin is one of the best players in the state.''

Turner is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound University of Michigan recruit. He recorded 24.5 tackles and three interceptions (two went for touchdowns) as a cornerback. As a tailback, he rushed for 1,380 yards and 11 touchdowns on 207 carries and had nine receptions for 116 yards and one touchdown.
