Canton McKinley will have nine full-time starters returning on defense this season and coach Ron Johnson said that side of the ball will be "pretty special" this fall.
The Bulldogs are projected to start 10 seniors and a junior on defense. The seniors include LB Jewone Snow, safety Jamon McClain, OLB Ronald Gillom and CB Brice Everett.
Johnson said several players on defense have significant interest from college programs.
Snow has narrowed his college choices to Michigan State, West Virginia and Purdue. McClain could receive a Big Ten offer sometime soon.
Gillom has offers from Toledo and Bowling Green and interest from West Virginia and Syracuse.
Everett, the brother of former McKinley and Ohio State standout Tyler Everett, has offers from Kent State, Akron, Eastern Michigan and Ohio University.
The junior in that group is DE Steve Miller (6-4, 235), who has been rated the nation's No. 1 player at his position in the 2011 class. Johnson said he expects Miller will have more than 100 offers once schools are officially allowed to offer Sept. 1
"He is the best high school player I've ever been around," Johnson said.
