By jlloyd Published: May 27, 2010

Medina rallied to bring the tying run to the plate in the seventh before falling to St. Ed's, 8-4 in a Division I regional semifinal. The Bees trailed 8-0 after three innings, but rallied for a run in the sixth and three in the seventh.

Medina batted around in the seventh when Nick Martinez represented the tying run, but he fouled out to first to end the game.

"We've done it all year in the last two innings," Medina coach Nick Kaplack said. "We've scored five, we've scored six in the last inning. Their mental toughness is they're just not going to give up.''

St. Ed's (26-3) will face Mayfield (22-6) at 5 p.m. on Friday at Thurman Munson Stadium in Canton in a Division I regional final rematch from two years ago.
