More on Pirman's commitment to Indiana

By mdyer Published: April 19, 2010

As we reported earlier, Orrville junior LB Max Pirman orally committed to Indiana this past weekend. Orrville coach Doug DaVault said Pirman enjoyed the campus environment and the Indiana coaches so he decided to commit.

Pirman, who is 6 feet 5 and 220 pounds, had nine scholarship offers, including the latest offer from Kansas. DaVault said Nebraska was scheduled to visit northeast Ohio this week and Duke was very interested.

Davault said he believes Indiana will use Pirman on the edge of its defense in some capacity. "They run a 3-4 which we run and see him as an edge guy," DaVault said.

As for the 2010 season with Orrville, DaVault said Pirman will start on both sides of the ball and there are plenty of expectations for him. He is expected to play tight end on offense and either of the two outside linebacker positions on defense.

"He should be one of the top performers in the area," DaVault said.
