Nordonia Knights not shielded from injuries

By izzy Published: September 16, 2009

We present the reason those of us who make high school football predictions on various teams preface it by saying, "if everyone stays healthy..."

Exhibit A - The Nordonia Knights.

Coach Al Huge needs a M*A*S*H unit on the campus by Route 8 and I-271 to deal with his wounded troops.

"We really been banged up all year," the coach says, "We just keep getting injuries."

The Knights got bad news regarding Aaron Welsh, their wide receiver-cornerback and Wildcat back - he's out for the season with both a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee. Defensive tackle Aaron Highberger, who was trying to return full go after some injuries, twisted an ankle and safety widde receiver Paul Ward has a hip flexor.

The Knights have dropped two straight games after an easy opening win over Tallmadge, the latest being  28-14 loss to Kenston despite have a 14-0 lead before the injuries cropped up in the game. Friday night, Nordonia plays at unbeaten North Royalon in an Northeast Ohio Conference crossover game.
