Nordonia set to hire Tricia Pozsgai as softball coach

Tricia Pozsgai is in line to be the softball coach at Nordonia.

Nordonia Athletic Director Rob Eckenrode said a recommendation will be made to the Board of Education members in February to hire her.

Pozsgai, a former player and graduate of Baldwin Wallace, posted a 120-66 record during her tenure as coach at Wickliffe from 2004-12. She was named the Chagrin Valley Conference coach of the year in 2006 when she led Wickliffe to a CVC league championship and a district runner-up title.

“We are extremely pleased to recommend Tricia Pozsgai as our new softball coach,” Eckenrode said in a news release. “Coach Pozsgai brings tremendous energy, enthusiasm and knowledge to the position and we are proud to have her lead our softball program.”

Pozsgai is a math teacher at Nordonia Middle School. She served as a softball assistant coach last season.

Former Nordonia coach Megan Monsman resigned for personal reasons, according to Eckenrode.
