Norwayne’s Kaleb Harris commits to Cincinnati for football

Norwayne senior-to-be Kaleb Harris has committed to continue his academic and athletic careers on a football scholarship at the University of Cincinnati, according to sources.

Harris, who is 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, has helped Norwayne reach the Division IV state playoffs in each of the past two seasons, including winning the state championship in 2011 and being a state semifinalist in 2012. He has made his mark as a speedy defensive back and wide receiver for Norwayne coach Joe Harbour.

According to reports, Cincinnati, Marshall, Western Michigan, Toledo, Kent State, Akron and Buffalo all offered Harris a scholarship. Harris could play outside linebacker at UC.

He also has played basketball at Norwayne and competed in the Division II state track and field meet.

Harris’ teammate, rising senior Trevahn Beery, recently committed to play football on scholarship Western Michigan.

Norwayne has won the past two Wayne County Athletic League titles in football.
