Orrville advances with 50-48 victory

Senior guard Sam Miller made two free throws with 1.8 seconds to go in the fourth quarter to lead Orrville to a 50-48 victory over Columbus Bishop Ready on Thursday afternoon in a Division III state semifinal game at Value City Arena on the campus of Ohio State University in Columbus.

Miller finished with 12 points.

Junior forward Zach Wasson and senior guard Jacob Bolyard each scored 13 points for Orrville.

Senior forward Joe Graessle led Bishop Ready with 16 points.

Orrville led Bishop Ready 35-27 after three quarters. Junior forward Zach Wasson and senior guard Joey Bescanson each scored five points in the quarter for the Red Riders.

Orrville led Bishop Ready 21-20 at halftime. Senior guard Sam Miller guided the Red Riders in the first half with eight points and senior guard Jacob Bolyard scored six points.

Senior guards Cody Culbertson and Matt Biggs each scored five points in the first half for the Silver Knights.

Bishop Ready held a 13-9 lead after the first quarter.
