Orrville football coach proud of season

Orrville football coach Doug Davault said he was proud of the season Orrville had especially overcoming injuries during the season and making it to Week 12.

While the team was disappointed with the 34-19 loss to Norwayne Nov. 21 in the Division IV regional semifinals, he said he likes the potential in the future.

“Hopefully the younger kids will want more next year and work even harder in the offseason,” Davault said last week. “We’ll have a lot of holes to fill for next year. We’ll be pretty young but hopefully (we) will be able to compete like veterans.”

Davault said last week there was nothing new with the recruiting of Orrville senior linebacker Mason Monheim, who has several scholarship offers, including Illinois and Mid-American Conference schools.
