No. 8 Kent Roosevelt (8-2) at No. 1 Tallmadge (10-0)
Division II, region 5
Where: 7:30 p.m. Friday at Tallmadge Stadium

STORYLINE: A lot of people ignored Tallmadge when the season started. No one can ignore them now that they are undefeated and the top seed in Division II, region 5.

After a one-year hiatus, The Blue Devils are back in the playoffs. They qualified in each of the five previous seasons.

Sophomore quarterback Anthony Gotto plays beyond his grade level, but he was the first to say last Friday that everything he does is predicated off of junior running back Tyrin Williams and the ground game.

``Play action,’’ he said.

While Williams was off churning nearly 200 yards on the ground, Gotto completed 13 consecutive passes at one point.

They’ll need all the offense they can get against Kent Roosevelt, who is known to put up points with the best of teams.

Tallmadge coach Joe Vassalotti compares the Rough Riders to Copley based on their skill, athleticism and quarterback play.

Kent Roosevelt senior quarterback Evan Shimensky, a Kent State recruit, is capable of beating teams with his arm and his legs and has, at times, posted huge numbers this season. Shakeel Howard is a very dangerous skill player too.
