Rardin: Running game is more consistent

By mdyer Published: September 16, 2010

The Walsh Jesuit football team (3-0) plays host to Mentor Lake Catholic (3-0) at 7 p.m. Friday. Walsh is No. 8 in the Associated Press Division II state poll, while Lake Catholic is No. 4.

"We expect a hard-hitting, well-coached team in Lake Catholic," Walsh coach Gerry Rardin said.

Rardin said the keys will be limiting turnovers and the Warriors' ability to stop the run and take advantage of all scoring opportunities.

"We like the way (the) defense is swarming to the ball," Rardin said.

Walsh defeated Bedford 16-6 last week and Rardin said his offense is becoming more consistent in the run game. Senior QB Connor Cook (Michigan State commit) has also been effective.
