Revere's Flegal still recovering

Revere (2-1) enters its conference slate with one of its best players still unable to give it a go. Senior linebacker Dave Flegal is still recovering from a bulging disc in his back.

``He is close, but he is not back yet,’’ Revere coach Terry Cistone said.

Flegal, who also plays fullback, is close to breaking most of the defensive records at the school, although it is still not clear when and if he will return to the football field.

``Not having Dave Flegal on both sides of the ball is really hurting us,’’ Cistone said.

Other players are stepping up though.

Cistone referred to sophomore defensive back Justin Bergh and senior defensive tackle/offensive guard Mason Quick as two players who have excelled this year for the Minutemen.

Bergh, at 5-foot-9, 165 pounds is a tough physical player, Cistone said.

``He is stepped in from day one and he hasn’t lost his job,’’ Cistone said. ``He is going to be a player that you are going to hear about down the road.’’

Quick, 6-foot-1, 215 pounds, has worked extremely hard in the weight room and it shows. He is bigger and stronger it is paying off on the field, Cistone said.
