Revere High School senior Emma Gresser signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and swimming careers on scholarship at the University of Cincinnati.

Gresser said the Bearcats recruited her to compete in the 200-yard butterfly, 100-yard butterfly and 400-yard individual medley.

“I am very excited for the new opportunity, and hopefully will have some consistency in college because I didn’t really have that in high school,” Gresser said. “I am looking forward to improving my times and represent UC well.”

Gresser, who is 5-foot-4, earned four varsity letters on Revere’s swim team. She ended her senior season with a school record performance in the 100 butterfly, clocking a 59.23 seconds, and finishing seventh in the Division I district meet in Cleveland. She also finished ninth at district in the 200 individual medley in 2:12.84.

Revere athletic director Bill Schumacher said Gresser, 18, holds three Revere school records, the 100 butterfly, the 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay. She also holds one Division II Akron sectional meet record, the 100 butterfly.

Gresser was a three-time state qualifier and a two-time Division II state medalist in Canton.
