St. V-M senior Jordan Korinek signs with KSU for basketball

St. Vincent-St. Mary senior Jordan Korinek has signed a national letter of intent to continue her academic and basketball careers at Kent State University.

Korinek, who is from Cuyahoga Falls, is a three-year varsity letter winner at St. V-M and helped the Irish to Division II district runner-up finishes in each of the past three years.

Korinek, a 6-foot-2 power forward, averaged around 17 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks per game as a junior under coach Joe Jakubick.

“Talented post players are hard to find, and when you have one in your backyard it’s a great day when they chose your program,” KSU coach Danielle O’Banion said in a press release. “Jordan’s commitment to Kent State adds both scoring and rebounding depth to our front court. Despite averaging a double-double as a junior, I believe she is only scratching the surface of her talent. Given the opportunity to compete against Division I talent on a daily basis I expect her game to continue to grow.”
