St. Vincent-St. Mary Beats Beats Bishop Hartley 49-44

By gthomas Published: March 24, 2011

Irish 49-, Hawks 44

1 QTR:  St. Vincent-St. St. Mary is up 12-4 after one.  Right now it doesn't look as if Bishop Hartley even belongs on the same floor.  It's early still, but the Irish has dominated offensively and defensively. The scoring is balanced among the team and the defense stifling.

2QTR: Irish are getting inside with ease but seem to be enamored by hitting three-point shot.  Could bite them in the rear later. Score is 22-16 at halftime.  Instead of showing some patience the Irish settled for threes when going inside to Lorenzo Cugini is working.  He has eight points after two.

3QTR: Irish go into the fourth leading by just three as theyonce had a 13-point lead.  They haven't gone inside much in the quarter. Columbus Bishop Hartley closed out on a 12-2 run to end the quarter. They have the momentum going forward and it seems as the Irish lack a sense of urgency along with any semblance of an offensive game.

4th QTR:  A key steal and a layup by Davonte Beard and a three-pointer by Ricky Johnson puts the Irish up for good after they squandered a 13-point lead and eventually allowed the Hawks to take the lead in the the fourth quarter.
