Three area football chosen for U.S. Army All-American Bowl

Three area football players in the 2014 class have been nominated for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

St. Vincent-St. Mary linebacker Dante Booker, Massillon offensive lineman Nathaniel Devers and Massillon defensive back Marcus Whitfield are three of 26 players statewide to be nominated. There are 400 players nominated across the country.

The selections likely won’t be announced until later this fall. The all-star game will be Saturday, Jan. 4 at the Alamodome in San Antonio and is expected to be shown live on NBC.
