Lockland High School girls’ basketball player Teesha Bennett has committed to the University of Akron as a preferred walk-on, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Bennett, a point guard, was the Miami Valley Conference Gray division player of the year last winter. Lockland is a Division IV program north of downtown Cincinnati. Bennett averaged nearly 15 points and averaged 7.0 rebounds and 7.0 steals during the regular season.

The University of Akron football program offered a scholarship to Western Hills High School wide receiver Josh Smith on Friday, according to the Enquirer.

Smith, 6 feet 2 and 185 pounds, also has offers from Kentucky, Ball State, Kent State, Toledo and Youngstown State.
