After an exciting first week of high school football, I expect week 2 to be even more interesting.
The Beacon Journal's preseason No. 1 team, Tallmadge, defeated Cuyahoga Falls 17-14 in week 1. The close score makes me think that either Tallmadge is more vulnerable than I thought or Cuyahoga Falls is better than I thought. This week, Tallmadge plays Ellet and Cuyahoga Falls plays Wadsworth. I hope Friday's games reveal more about Tallmadge and Cuyahoga Falls because frankly, I was confused by their season opener. To read more or comment...

The blogger with the username "Blue Room Bum" asked a good question about Archbishop Hoban safety Will Fleming making a choice about college.
I talked to Hoban football coach Ralph Orsini and he confirmed that Fleming has received offers from the University of Akron and Hawaii. Orsini did not say that Fleming will become a Zip for sure but he indicated that it's a strong possibility because Fleming's father, Jim Fleming, is the defensive coordinator at UA. Orsini also said Fleming has a good relationship with Zips head coach J.D. Brookhart. To read more or comment...
