The Walsh Jesuit football team opens the season at home against Louisville on Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. Walsh then plays host to Hoban on Sept. 3 at 7 p.m.
Walsh coach Gerry Rardin said his team has been looking forward to the season.
"I think we have a tremendously hard-working group of young men," Rardin said. "They are really pushing themselves in this offseason."
Walsh returns senior-to-be QB Connor Cook, who has orally committed to Michigan State. Senior-to-be offensive lineman Adam Redmond also has Division I offers.
Rardin said he wants his players to be in top condition once August arrives.
"We expect practices to be tough and competitive," Rardin said. "By the end of August, we expect to be ready to play."
