21 local wrestlers advance to state finals

Twenty-one local wrestlers are one victory away from winning a state title tonight at Value City Arena. Eleven are from Division I, six are from Division II and four are from Division III. The title matches from all three divisions are scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m. today. Here are the local finalists:

Division I

103 — Perry freshman David Bavery (35-7). 125 -- Wadsworth junior Kagan Squire (50-2). 135 — Canton McKinley junior Ruben Burrows (37-4). 140 — Perry junior Zach Dailey (41-3); Wadsworth senior Nate Ball (41-8). 145 — Perry senior Tanner Lemon (33-10). 152 — Medina senior Teddy Hammer (43-4). 160 – Wadsworth senior Sheldon Brandenburg (32-1). 171 — Twinsburg junior Michael Baker (39-2). 189 — Copley senior Sam Wheeler (47-4). 215 — Wadsworth junior Nick Tavanello (47-1).

Division II

103 — St. Vincent-St. Mary sophomore Mike Rix (25-7). 112 — Walsh Jesuit junior Cory Stainbrook (41-9). 130 — Walsh Jesuit senior Johnni DiJulius (43-3). 135 — Walsh Jesuit junior Nate Skonieczny (47-1). 140 — Field junior T.J. Fox (48-2). 171 — Crestwood senior Cody Ryba (44-3).

Division III
