22 area schools qualify for 2011 state football playoffs

There are 22 schools in the Akron Beacon Journal five-county coverage area that have qualified for the 2011 OHSAA state football playoffs.

OHSAA released the final computer rankings Sunday after the 10-week regular season concluded this weekend. There are 192 teams in the playoffs broken into four regions of eight teams in six divisions.

The 22 schools who advanced to the playoffs are:

DIVISION I
- GlenOak
- Hudson
- Canton McKinley
- Wadsworth

DIVISION II
- Walsh Jesuit
- Tallmadge
- Aurora
- Kent Roosevelt
- Highland

DIVISION III
- Ravenna
- Southeast
- St. Vincent-St. Mary
- Minerva
- Northwest

DIVISION IV
- Orrville
- Norwayne
- Black River
- Manchester
- Canton Central Catholic

DIVISION V
- St. Thomas Aquinas
- Smithville

DIVISION VI
- Mogadore
