Akron basketball recruit Gary Akbar drops commitment
According to the Dayton Daily News, University of Akron basketball recruit Gary Akbar has rescinded his commitment to play for the Zips.
The newspaper reports that Akbar committed to Akron last week, but changed his mind Tuesday.
Akbar, a senior at Dunbar High School near Dayton, averaged 10.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game last season.
ESPN.com rates Akbar as a two-star prospect as a small forward.
