Archbishop Hoban selects golf and volleyball coaches
Archbishop Hoban High School Athletic Director Michael Del Medico announced the hiring of two coaches for Knights girls teams.
Corey Verchio has been named Hoban’s girls volleyball coach and Natalie Brasiel has been selected as the Knights girls golf coach.
Verchio played collegiate volleyball at Slippery Rock University before pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management at Kent State University. He has been Stow’s head junior varsity coach for the past two seasons where his teams have a record of 31-7. He also served as a Stow varsity assistant on a team that won a Northeast Ohio Conference championship and a district title.
Verchio is currently the Director of Volleyball for Ohio Xtreme Athletics, a club based in Akron. His teams have won three tournament championships in the OVR Region and placed ninth out of 225 teams at the AAU National Championship.
Brasiel is an Akron native who played Ohio State University women’s golf team from 1997-2002. During her time in Columbus, the Buckeyes won three Big 10 championships.
Brasiel played professionally on the Futures Golf Tour, and also currently directs two women’s golf programs at Mud Run Golf Course and also teaches Golf Agility and Golf Fitness at the Green YMCA.
