Crestwood High School recently named Chris Kosiorek as its head football coach.

Crestwood superintendent Joe Iacano and Red Devils athletic director Steve Matheos selected Kosiorek from a list of over 40 applicants.

Kosiorek comes to Crestwood after being the head football coach at Mechanicsburg High School. He led Indians to a 25-10 record and three playoff wins in three seasons. The 2008 Mechanicsburg team set a school single-season record for wins (12-1), won the Ohio Heritage Conference and advanced to a Division VI regional final.

Kosiorek, 41, was a defensive coordinator at Twinsburg for nine years and was also an assistant at Cleveland Benedictine when the Bengals won a state championship and had a state runner-up finish.

Kosiorek, a native of Youngstown, graduated from Youngstown Cardinal Mooney and Bowling Green State University. He played football at Mooney and BGSU and has 16 years of teaching experience in mathematics.
