Murphy still committed to Indiana
St. Vincent-Mary senior defensive back Mark Murphy is still verbally committed to Indiana despite the Hoosiers making a head coaching change over the weekend.
"Currently, Mark has no plans to change his commitment," SVSM athletic director Andy Jalwan said in an e-mail this morning.

Buchtel's Smith Catches Eye of Ohio State
Akron Buchtel wide receiver Corey Smith has caught the eye of the Ohio State Buckeyes. After receiving offers from Michigan State and North Carolina, Smith is now on OSU's radar said Buchtel coach Ricky Powers.
Whether the Buckeyes offer him depends on his grades and college test scores. Smith has also drawn interest from LSU, their program is apparently waiting for game film from the entire season.

Irish's Doran Grant Selects Four For Official Visits
St. Vincent-St. Mary defensive back Doran Grant has selected four colleges for official visits. Grant is one of the state's prized recruits in football and although he plies his trade predominantly at defensive back, he played quarterback, receiver and running back for the Irish this year. The schools he will officially visit:

Kent Roosevelt junior OL Ryan Anderson (6-4, 300) has taken unofficial visits to Pittsburgh, Ohio State, Michigan and Notre Dame this fall, according to Kent Roosevelt football coach John Nemec.
ScoutingOhio.com reported Anderson has an offer from Pitt.

Division III preview: Marlington vs. Dover @ Fawcett Stadium in Canton
The Division III Region 11 regional final is a matchup of power football in Marlington and Cinderella in Dover. The Tornadoes (10-2) are coming off a 34-28 win over Thornville Sheridan in overtime in the regional ssemifinal after stunning Steubenville in the quarterfinals 31-28.
The great year Marlington has had into football in reflected in some post season honors already.

Division II playoff preview: Lake vs. Sunbury Big Walnut @ Ashland University's Jack Miller Stadium
The first meeting between these teams is intriguing. Sunbury is that exit of I-71 north of Columbus people often stop for gas or snacks to give you perspective on where the town is.
Understand this - Big Walnut knocked off Columbus Marion-Franklin 24-12 which held explosive Ashland to just seven points earlier this season, so you know its defense led by lineman Mitch Paulino, linebackers Corey Paulino and Jarrod Daugherty.

The Orrville football team will make its second consecutive regional final appearance this week when it plays Genoa Area at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Avon Lake.

Garfield senior TE-DE Kevin Brewton has been receiving interest from Ball State lately, according to Garfield coach Bob Sax.
Brewton, who has an offer from Akron, hasn't set up a visit with Ball State yet.

Orrville linebacker taking unofficial visit to Nebraska
Orrville junior linebacker Mason Monheim (6-1, 215) will take an unofficial visit to Nebraska this weekend, according to Orrville coach Doug Davault. Monheim, who is one of the state’s top players in the 2012 class, has already visited Michigan. He has an offer from Illinois.

Time for the rematch, but will there be a different result?
St. Vincent-St. Mary faces Youngstown Cardinal Mooney 7 p.m. Saturday at Uniontown Lake Blue Streak Stadium in the Division III football regional semifinal. The two teams hooked up in Week 8 with the Cardinals winning 23-6.

Copley Wrestler Signs with Oklahoma
Sam Wheeler, senior wrestler from Copley High School, accepted a scholarship and signed a Letter of Intent to continue his wrestling career at The University of Oklahoma. Sam was 53-1 as a junior 171 lb. wrestler and finished as a state runner up in Division I last season.
In the spring and summer Sam Wheeler was a Fila Cadet All American in Freestyle wrestling and was a member of the elite Ohio Freestyle dual team that finished 3rd in the country. Sam was a state alternate his sophomore year in wrestling. Sam also was a captain on the 9-2 Copley football playoff team and finished with 170+ tackles as an inside linebacker.

Glen Este senior Karina Atkinson has verbally committed to play women's soccer at Akron , according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Atkinson, a senior midfielder, had 11 goals and six assists for Glen Este this season.
Report: Kent State offers WR
Kent State has reportedly offered Kenton senior wide receiver Max Morrison (6-1, 165), according to ScoutingOhio.com.
Morrison also reportedly has offers from Air Force and Vanderbilt.

Kent Roosevelt junior OL Ryan Anderson (6-4, 300) reportedly took an unofficial visit to Michigan recently, according to Rivals.com.
Anderson, one of Ohio ’s top college prospects in the 2012 class, has been offered by Pittsburgh, according to ScoutingOhio.com
Playoff preview: Buckeye Central (9-1) at Mogadore (10-0)
Mogadore football is one of the great traditions in all of Ohio high school football. The Wildcats won their fourth state title in 2002 and visit the playoffs yearly now under coach Matt Adorni and for years with Scott Pollack.
The Wildcats (10-0, 7-0) won the Portage Trail Conference County Division, finishing with a 17-7 win over East Canton. Wildcat football is running the football with senior running back Jake McAvinew and Kodey Chance.
