Varsity Letters Player of the Game: Mogadore senior running back Cody Destro carried the ball 21 times for 172 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Wildcats (4-1, 1-0) over Garrettsville (2-3, 1-1) in a battle between last season's Portage Trail Conference County Division co-champs.
Destro had touchdown runs of 57, 3 and 1 yards to help Mogadore defeat the Wildcats for the second consecutive season.
Mogadore senior running back Ryan Brodie also had 15 carries, 96 yards and a rushing touchdown.
"With Cody's size, he is going to wear teams down a little bit," Mogadore coach Matt Adorni said. "Hopefully he'll be able to open up the outside a little bit for Brodie."
