St. Vincent-St. Mary baseball coach Anthony Boarman announced four senior baseball players have committed to play college baseball.
The four players are pitcher Corey Whaley (Marietta College), catcher Zac George (Ohio Northern University), infielder Calvin Miller (College of Wooster) and outfielder Jeff Dehnke (Walsh University).
“These guys have a special place with me,” Boarman said. “Being able to watch them grow and mature in the program, in the classroom, and in life is my favorite part of coaching. I’m confident that they will be very successful on and off the field at the next level. I am very proud to have had the opportunity to coach these four young men.”
Whaley is out this season due to a knee (ACL) injury that was suffered in March. He was a key player the previous three seasons for the Irish, and Boarman said he has “served a crucial role as a leader in the dugout this season.”
Boarman said George has earned three varsity letters and has been the team’s starting catcher since his sophomore year. Miller and Dehnke are both first-year letter winners and have emerged as two of St. V-M’s leading hitters.
