Green narrows AD search to three finalists
Green High School Principal Cindy Brown said Monday the Bulldogs should have a decision by the end of the month on a new athletic director that will replace Mark Pfaff.
“We had 84 applicants,” Brown said. “We interviewed 15 last week and we are down to our final three. They are interviewing [Tuesday] night.”
Brown said the final three candidates are Bruce Johnson, A.J. Hite and Erik Beun.
Johnson is currently an assistant athletic director at a high school in North Carolina after previously serving as Warren Howland High School’s Athletic Director.
Hite is an Assistant Principal at Manchester High School and Beun is the Athletic Director at Berlin Hiland High School.
“We hope to have someone on the board agenda for the May 21 meeting,” Brown said
Brown recommended a two-year contract extension for Pfaff, but the Green Board of Education decided against that and did not renew his contract in March.
Pfaff is finishing out the school year as Green’s athletic director.
Brown said she will make a recommendation to Green Superintendent Michael Nutter and the final decision will come at the board meeting.
