Hebron Lakewood wins DII semi; Poland Seminary, New Concord begins
Defending Division III champion Hebron Lakewood(28-5) has moved up to Division II and survived its semifinal game with a 5-4 come from behind win over Greenville (30-3) Thursday morning at Firestone Stadium.
The Lancers trailed 4-3 after the Green Wave scored four in the top of the sixth, but put two on the board iin the bottom of the inning. Left fielder Chelsea Brewer, was hit by a pitch, had two hits including a triple and RBI, catcher Caitlin Houk walked twice, doubled and drove in a run, and winning pitcher Alyssa Patznick (21-3) had a hit and drove in a run.
The other Division II game between Poland Seminary and New Concord John Glenn began after a rain delay and is scoreless after three innings.
The Perry-Springfield Division I semifinal game now scheduled to begin at 3:30, not 3 because of the earlier rain.
