Highland Golfer to Play for Ohio University
Highland senior Lauren McKinzie signed a letter of intent on November 9 to attend and play golf for Ohio University next year. She has received a partial athletic scholarship from the university.
Lauren is a four-year, first team All-Suburban League golfer, as well as a three-year, first team All-Northeast Ohio selection. She finished her senior season in an impressive fashion, posting a 75 at the OHSSA Sectional Tournament and a 77 in the 2nd Round of the OHSSA State Tournament.
As one of two Highland seniors who have led the Hornets to three consecutive state golf tournament appearances, Lauren boasts an average of 81 for 18 holes and 40 for nine holes. She is the daughter of Tim and Kathy McKinzie of Medina. Her sister, Chloe, a freshman at Highland, is also a member of the Hornet's golf team.
