Jeff Fox set to become Nordonia football coach

Nordonia Athletic Director Rob Eckenrode said Jeff Fox will be recommended to the Nordonia Hills City Schools Board of Education as the varsity head football coach.

The recommendation will be made at the next scheduled Board meeting on February 13. Fox, 29, previously served as the offensive coordinator and strength and conditioning coach at Willoughby South for the past seven years. During that span the Rebels averaged 35.4 points a game and made four state playoff appearances.

“Jeff is mature beyond his years and an incredibly intelligent guy,” Eckenrode said.

Eckenrode said Fox was chosen from an original field of 60 applicants.

Fox is a 2004 graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics/Young Adult Education. He currently teaches Advanced Placement Calculus at Willoughby South. Due to impending teacher retirements within the Nordonia Schools, Fox will also be recommended to teach math at Nordonia High School.

“We are extremely pleased to recommend Jeff Fox as our new football coach,” said Eckenrode, 1989 Baldwin-Wallace graduate. “Coach Fox brings tremendous energy, enthusiasm and intelligence to the position and we are proud to have him lead our football program.”

Fox was a two-year starter and was twice named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference at Baldwin-Wallace.

Fox replaces Al Huge, who resigned in November after four seasons.
