Kent Roosevelt junior Matt Sommers generates college interest

By Michael Beaven Published: February 6, 2013

Kent Roosevelt coach John Nemec said junior linebacker Matt Sommers is generating interest from several colleges, including Kent State, Bowling Green and Akron.

Sommers, 6-foot-2 and 230-pounds, was named the Portage Trail Conference Metro Division Player of the Year this past season, his second as a starter.

Sommers and senior quarterback Tra’Von Chapman guided the Rough Riders to the Division II state playoffs in each of the past two seasons.

Chapman signed a National Letter of Intent today with Pittsburgh.
