Kent State football recruiting updates
• Hamilton Ross senior offensive lineman/defensive lineman Sam Fernandez has committed to Kent State as a preferred walk-on, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Fernandez, who is 6-foot-2 and 280 pounds, was a first-team all-Fort Ancient Valley Conference Scarlet Division all-star last season.
• Marlington junior running back Alden Hill has reportedly added an offer from Kent State, according to ScoutingOhio.com.
Hill, who is 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, also has offers from Ball State, Toledo, Bowling Green, Boston College, Buffalo, Connecticut, Northern Illinois and Vanderbilt.
• Kent State has offered Madeira junior offensive lineman Kyle Williamson, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Williamson, who is 6-foot-4 1/2 and 275 pounds, also has offers from Akron and Youngstown State. He is considered one of the top offensive linemen in Cincinnati for the 2012 class.
