New Kent State Coach Darrell Hazell has wasted no time trying to tap into local football talent.
Hazell offered Buchtel cornerback Chevin Meadows and wide receiver Corey Smith this past week.
The offers would give both young men a chance to play near home. Meadows, a senior, said that he would discuss the offer with his family and go from there.
Smith, a junior, said has plenty of time to make a decision - and he should use every minute possible. Smith has gotten interest from top programs in nearly every BCS conference, including Ohio State.
Next week he plans to take unofficial visits to a host of SEC schools, including LSU, Tennesseee, North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky and Clemson.
