Marlington junior tackle Zach Higgins has reportedly added an offer from South Florida, according to ScoutingOhio.com.

Higgins, who is 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds, also has offers that include Ball State, Ohio, Toledo, Akron, Cincinnati, Miami (Ohio), Bowling Green, Michigan State, West Virginia, Iowa State and Northwestern.

St. Vincent-St. Mary High School seniors DaVonte’ Beard and Ricky Johnson Jr. have committed to continue their basketball and academic careers in college.

Beard is headed to Siena in Loudonville, N.Y. and Johnson is bound for Bethune-Cookman in Dayton Beach, Fla.

Stow and Hudson are ranked Nos. 9 and 10 in the season’s first Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association Division I state poll this week.

In Division III, Norwayne is ranked No. 5.

Medina junior quarterback Mason Schreck has reportedly been offered by Toledo, according to ScoutingOhio.com. Schreck is 6-foot-5 and 212 pounds.

Orrville junior linebacker Mason Monheim added an offer from Akron last week, according to Orrville coach Doug Davault.

Monheim, who is 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds, also has offers from Illinois, Miami (Ohio), Kent State and Toledo.

Firestone sophomore wide receiver Kevin Gladney is ranked the state’s No. 8 player overall in the 2013 class, according to Bucknuts.com.

Gladney, who is 6-foot-3 and 175 pounds, is one of the premier wide receiver prospects in Ohio . Duane Long of Bucknuts.com writes of Gladney: “The kind of big, physical athletic receiver that goes at the top of the NFL draft.”

The University of Akron has offered a scholarship to Middletown junior wide receiver/safety Zach Edwards, according to ScoutingOhio.com.

Edwards, who is 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, also has offers from Cincinnati and Bowling Green.

Copley junior wide receiver Isaiah Wheeler has reportedly been offered by Akron, according to ScoutingOhio.com. It is the first offer for Wheeler, who is 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds.

Marlington junior running back Alden Hill has reportedly added an offer from Bowling Green, according to ScoutingOhio.com. Hill, who is 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, also has offers from Ball State and Toledo.

St. Thomas Aquinas junior wide receiver Sean Dempsey has reportedly been offered by Air Force, according to ScoutingOhio.com.

Dempsey is 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds.

Orrville junior middle linebacker Mason Monheim has reportedly added an offer from Toledo, according to ScoutingOhio.com. Monheim, who is 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds, also has offers from Illinois, Miami University and Kent State.

Marlington sophomore Dymonte Thomas has reportedly been offered by Michigan State, according to Bucknuts Media Network/JJHuddle.com.

“It’s the first offer I’ve ever had – it’s a dream,” the website quoted Thomas as saying.

Minerva junior tight end/wide receiver Kyle Crum was offered by Kent State on March 27, according to Minerva coach Brett Yeagley.

Crum, who is 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, also has an offer from Louisville.

The following individuals will interview with the Green Local Schools Football Selection Committee for the Green Bulldog Head Football coaching position. Interviews will begin next week with a new coach recommended to the Green Board of Education by early May.

Hoban junior defensive end Greg McMullen will reportedly attend the Nebraska spring game April 16, according to Rivals.com.

McMullen, who is one of the state’s top recruits in the 2012 class, has several offers including Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Purdue, Cincinnati, Michigan State and Nebraska, according to Rivals.com.
