Orrville vs. Lima Central Catholic
Lima Central Catholic wins the Division III state championship with a 60-57 win over Orrville.
Junior forward Austin Stolly led the Thunderbirds with 16 points and five rebounds. Senior guard Desi Kirkman contributed 15 points, five rebounds and six assists.
Senior guards Joey Bescanson and Jacob Bolyard each scored 14 points for the Red Riders. Junior forward Zach Wasson finished with 12 points.
Sophomore forward Ty O'Connor scored 12 points for LCC.
Orrville trailed 48-34 with 6:37 to go in the fourth quarter, but cut its deficit to 56-55 with 1:01 remaining. The Red Riders would get no closer.
Bolyard fouled out with 20.7 seconds left in the game. Wasson attempted a 3-pointer with about three seconds remaining, but the shot hit off the rim.
Bescanson appeared to be trying to get a 3-point shot off, but was double-teamed and forced to pass the ball to Wasson.
