Playoff Preview: Warren Howland (10-0) at Copley (9-1)
Warren Howland (10-0) at Copley (9-1)
7 p.m., Infocision Stadium
Howland is heading into its fifth consecutive playoff appearance.
These two teams could be almost mirror images of one another.
Offensively they both feature sophomore running backs. For Copley it's Aregeros Turner. For Howland: De'Veon Smith.
There is a key difference, however at the quarterback position. While Howland prefers to keep it on the ground, Copley can pass and will pass to keep the defense honest. In Lou Gigliotti, they have a QB who can make the throws. In wideout Shawn Taylor, they have a premier receiver.
Defensively, Howland has had five shutouts this year. Scoring wise, Copley's been less impressive, but their defense behind the strength of their linebackers stiffen.
The teams last met in the 2003 playoffs where Copley won 38-16.
