Ricky Powers to coach in all-star football game
The inaugural Super 60 All-Star Football Game will be played at Fawcett Stadium in Canton on May 13, with a kick-off set for 1:30 p.m.
The game will showcase dynamic senior student-athletes, 30 from western Pennsylvania and 30 from northeast Ohio.
Ricky Powers of Buchtel will be the head coach of the Cleveland Team. He starred as a running back at the University of Michigan and was with the Cleveland Browns.
Darnell Dinkins will be head coach of the Pittsburgh Team. He was a standout at the University of Pittsburgh and a former NFL tight end who played with the Browns, Baltimore Ravens, New York Giants, and Super Bowl XLIV Champion New Orleans Saints. He coached tight ends 2011 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2011.
The Super 60 All Star Game has been organized by Camp 31. Camp 31 is a non-profit organization located in Pittsburgh that provides a support system for student athletes to achieve excellence both on and off the playing field. Camp 31 is dedicated to a providing a comprehensive academic and personal development program for student athletes, as well as assisting in the recruitment and college selection process.
Prior to kick-off, at 1 p.m., The Fantastic 15 will take the field with 15 underclassmen from western Pennsylvania and 15 underclassmen from northeast Ohio in a non-contact 7-on-7 challenge.
