Springfield's Robinson commits to Walsh
Seth Robinson, a 2012 Springfield graduate, has committed to Walsh University to continue his academic and baseball careers.
“Seth was our top pitcher the past two seasons he led our team in all pitching categories and he was our leading hitter this year,” Springfield coach Scott Swan said. “He was our team MVP. He provided great senior leadership and led our team to the first winning season in my four-year tenure at Springfield. I definitely enjoyed coaching him and appreciate all the contributions he has made for our program. I think he has bright future in college.”
Robinson pitches and bats right-handed, and helped the Spartans to a 13-11 overall record. He compiled a 4-3 record pitching as a senior with a 1.51 ERA and 100 strikeouts in 60 1/3 innings. In three years on the varsity level, he accumulated 203 career strikeouts.
Robinson also batted .405 as a senior with 32 hits, 28 RBI, two home runs and 18 runs. His talents earned him a first-team All-Portage Trail Conference Metro Division selection as a senior and a second-team all-league nod as a junior.
