The Twinsburg girls basketball team still has their mind-boggling streaks intact.
Twinsburg moved its record to 23-0 this season following a 79-28 victory over Youngstown East in a Division I sectional semifinal game at Ellet on Saturday.
The win also extended the Tigers other streaks, 67 wins in a row over Ohio opponents and 37 win overall dating back to last season.
During this run, Twinsburg has won the past two Division I state championships, won three NOC Valley Division titles with 10-0 marks and won 25 games in a row at home.
Twinsburg plays Warren Harding at 6 tonight in a sectional final at Ellet. The Tigers are seven wins away (sectional final, two at district, two at regional and two at state) from another state title.
Senior Ashley Morrissette, a 5-foot-9 Purdue University recruit, is the Tigers catalyst with averages of 19.1 points, 6.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 steals.
Twinsburg is ranked No. 22 nationally in the USA Today Super 25 Rankings and is No. 20 in Excellent 25 Ranking by MaxPreps.com. The Tigers are No. 1 in Ohio in the following polls, the Associated Press, USA Today and MaxPreps.
Coach Julie Solis is 98-5 in four seasons at Twinsburg. The Tigers also get consistent contributions from seniors Brooke Smith, Char-dell Dunnigan and Mercedes Hobbs, juniors Baleigh Reid and Marisa Howard and sophomore Aloneet Durden.
Smith is a Cleveland State recruit and Smith is a George Mason recruit.
