UA extends several football scholarships

The University of Akron football program has reportedly extended several scholarship offers recently to players in the 2012 class, according to ScoutingOhio.com.

--Lakewood St. Edward junior defensive end Darryl Render (6-3, 245) added an offer from the Zips. He also has offers from West Virginia , Bowling Green and Toledo .

--Glenville junior defensive tackle Alex Pace (6-3, 260) also has offers from Kent State and Toledo .

--Warren Howland junior tackle Anthony Stanko (6-5, 300) also has offers from Northwestern, Penn State , Stanford , West Virginia and Kent State .

-- Akron is the first offer for Cleveland St. Ignatius junior strong safety Mike Svetina (6-2, 220).

-- Centerville junior free safety Jay Mastin (6-2, 200) also has offers from Miami (Ohio) and Ohio University.

--Austintown Fitch junior Chris Davis (5-9, 188), who is being recruited as an athlete, also has offers from SMU, Kent State, Indiana, Bowling Green, Toledo, Baylor, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Iowa, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.

--Austintown Fitch junior RB William Mahone (6 foot, 204 pounds) also has offers from Cincinnati, Boston College, Michigan State, West Virginia, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Pittsburgh, Iowa and several others.

--Austintown Fitch junior Demitrious Davis (5-10, 183), who is being recruited as an athlete, also has offers from SMU, Kent State, Indiana, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Iowa, West Virginia, Colorado and several others.
